Hello!

I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

My dissertation research analyzes the constitutionalism of eighteenth-century and early-American political thinkers. I theorize how the constitutional presidency is energetic enough to respond to foreign and domestic security emergencies, but also accountable to the rule of law and the separation of functions. I am interested in early modern political theory, American political thought, and research on the presidency.

I also highly value teaching and mentoring undergraduates interested in these issues. I am the recipient of the 2023-2024 Political Science Teaching Award, and lecture courses on Modern Western Political Thought and American Constitutionalism.
